Retail – Superquinn Supermarkets

The stores are named Superquinn; morphing the founders name with the store type; to form a well known and highly successful supermarket chain. wdl began working with Superquinn following changes in the law which had once restricted the size of stores. With the removal of this constraint supermarket competition increased and Superquinn recognised they had to respond.

wdl were chosen to implement a new store design and concept across an estate of Deli Supermarkets in Ireland. Eleven stores were successfully remodelled, with the pilot site in Blanchardstown, Dublin, winning Retail Week `store design of the year`. wdl were appointed as interior architects, project supervisors with a responsibility for cost control and Health & Safety co-ordination.
