Leisure – Sweat Union Gyms

wdl was chosen to design a new mid-market gym. With a requirement to aim above the usual no frills approach often associated with a challenging budget, a fresh and (female) friendly environment became the prime target in this increasingly crowded market. Completion of the first club involved adapting and re fitting a 3 storey office shell in Walsall town centre, where the aim has been endorsed by a healthy 50/50 male to female membership ratio. The 22,000 sq.ft. venue includes a dedicated spin studio, fitness studio and an emphasis on group activity. Other clubs are being planned throughout the UK, with wdl developing the concept and detailed designs.
